  Job Description:
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to the Bank on banking, corporate, commercial, and other legal matters.
  • Handle and coordinate legal proceedings, litigation, and disputes involving the Bank.
  • Represent the Bank before courts, tribunals, regulatory bodies, and other relevant authorities.
  • Review, draft, and provide legal opinions on contracts, agreements, notices, deeds, and other legal documents.
  • Provide technical guidance on legal and regulatory issues affecting the Bank’s operations.
  • Support the Bank in matters related to banking, company, corporate, commercial, and financial laws.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel, advocates, courts, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, directives, and legal requirements.
  • Provide legal support in recovery, documentation, claims, disputes, and other matters as required.
  • Maintain proper records of legal cases, proceedings, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to relevant departments on legal matters.
  • Monitor legal developments and advise the Bank on relevant changes in laws and regulations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a financial institution or reputed law firm.
  • Candidates with demonstrated experience in banking, company, and corporate law will be preferred.
  • Proven ability to represent clients before courts and other legal authorities.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable banking, corporate, commercial, and financial laws and regulations.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide effective technical and administrative support on legal issues.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple legal matters, and meet deadlines.
Education + Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Law, with Commercial Law as a core subject, from a recognized university.
  • Must hold a valid Advocate License.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant and progressive work experience as a legal practitioner.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a financial institution or reputed law firm, particularly in banking and corporate/company law.
  • Ability to represent the Bank before courts and provide technical legal support.
